Funeral Director Paul Birkett and Funeral Arranger Laura Lyons were delighted to be asked to take part, along with other local organisations in the Annual Christmas Tree Festival at St Matthew’s Church in Stretford, on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December.
The church was open Thursday 7th and Friday 8th December for everyone to come in and decorate their trees, for which CL Birkett & Son donated towards.
There was a prize for the most thought-provoking tree, the prettiest tree, and the most unusual tree! The CL Birkett tree was a memory tree and the church provided wooden hearts for people to leave messages for loved ones that have passed away.
Christmas Carols were sung by St Matthews School and Church choir.
Refreshments were available, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, mulled wine, homemade cakes, and mince pies which gave the event a real Christmassy feeling.
